Riley & Emily got married at the beautiful Ohme Gardens; the same place they got engaged the year before. I also took their engagement photos there so there were a lot of de ja vu moments following them around through the trees.

Before the wedding, the two did a “first touch” instead of a first look, where they prayed over their marriage together around a building corner where Riley couldn’t see his bride-to-be.

After guests, family, and the wedding party made their way in to the ceremony lawn, Emily walked with her dad down the long path of stairs to a teary-eyed Riley. Her uncle officiated the ceremony, they recited personal vows to each other, and finished with a “cord of three strands” tying. I even teared up during Emily’s vows when she mentioned praying for Riley to come to Christ and being so thankful to have that prayer answered.

The reception in the lower lawn included yard games, Italian sodas, and dinner from India House. The Wenatchee Big Band played in the background throughout the evening. After toasts by the maid of honor and best man, Riley’s parents wrapped the couple in a blanket, gifting it to them as a Native American tradition.

It was a lovely summer evening, ending with dancing, a bubble exit to the couple’s Vespa scooter, and a sliver of moon in the sky peeking through the trees.
